The Sabanci Foundation restored a historic building (formerly a 19th-century army barrack) to create the Sakip Sabanci Mardin City Museum in 2009.
The Museum displays artefacts relating to Mardin’s history, tourism, architecture, and visual arts – an ancient city in Turkey’s southeast, which is listed by ÇEKÜL as a Heritage Protected City.
