Simferopol Station

Simferopol is the transport hub of Crimea and its administrative centre. Its grand railway station has a red star rising above a distinctive clock tower. The waiting hall and booking office are built around a central courtyard of the IItalianate building, completed in 1952. It was designed the Soviet architect Alexey Dushkin who was responsible for several of Moscow’s Metro stations in the 1930s, and from 1943 to 1955 was in charge of the Architectural Department and Workshop of the Ministry of Railways.
