The Oriental Rug and Textile Society (ORTS) was founded in 1977 to encourage enthusiasm and interest in the carpets and textiles of the Orient; and now of the whole world. Also to advance understanding of the processes involved in their creation, and to promote knowledge of the traditional centers of weaving. UK lecture series and the ORTS Cup annual research award.
