The Josephine Powell Collection
Published as a catalogue for the exhibition of Josephine Powell’s collection of Anatolian kilims at the Silahhane, Yildiz Palace, in 2007, part of ICOC Istanbul, featured in Cornucopia 37, this book is an essential addition to the library of kilim lovers.
Josephine Powell died a month before the exhibition opened, having bequeathed her collection to the Vehbi Koc Foundation and the Sadberk Hanım Museum. The book includes her article ‘From Generation to Generation: Anatolian Nomad Storage Sacks’. The book illustrates more than 50 flatweaves in graphic detail.
