The Damascus Drum

2 Silver Street, Hawick, Scotland

A fabulous little café-cum-bookshop, with food that often has more than a little Turkish twist, and very decent Turkish coffee. Which is hardly surprising with Cornucopia’s offices round the corner. Christopher and Frances Ryan are the hosts – Christopher has been contributing to the magazine as travel writer and food critic since Cornucopia Issue 1. His novel, The Story of the Damascus Drum, was reviewed by Barnaby Rogerson in Cornucopia 47.
