Casa Botter

Sahkulu Mah., İstiklal Caddesi No. 235, Beyoğlu

The seven-storey Casa Botter (1900–1) in Tünel was built by the Italian architect Raimondo D’Aronco for M Jean Botter, a Dutch tailor to the sultans. The once-thriving Art Nouveau building is undergoing renovations but was once a great beauty. Who knows what will be unveiled.

The photographer James Hughes photographed the interior of Casa Botter and captured the subtle beauty of its disarray.
