The Akbank Jazz Festival returns to make the autumn swing for its 28th year. The programme for 2018 presents an exciting international line-up.
We’re looking forward to Karl Hector & The Malcouns at Babylon on October 19, with their African polyrhythms and Krautrock-infused jazz.
The contemporary jazz musician Avishai Cohen brings his quartet’s clear sound to the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall on October 21.
For something a little more far-out, we’ll seek out Turkish band Konstruktor’s otherworldly experimental jazz. They will celebrate their 10th anniversary at Akbank Art on October 24.
In addition to concerts, a number of talks (mainly held in Turkish), masterclasses, dance performances and workshops have been organised as part of the festival. You can see the full programme here.
