The country’s main archaeological museum holds the great treasures of the nation: Agamemnon’s gold mask, Cycladic figurines, Minoan frescoes and excellent ceramics and statuary, including the extraordinary 2nd-century BC bronze Horse and Jockey of Artemesium. It also has a collection of Egyptian and Near East antiquities.
