Eating fish on the lower Bosphorus can be expensive, but the Marina is excellent. Set in what looks like a park-keeper’s hut in Kuruçeşme Park, it is built over the water with windows all round. The squid is terrific, and the fish baked in salt arrives at your table like a dinosaur egg ready to be broken open.
There are plenty of other fish restaurants nearby and if you fancy meat, The Market Bosphorus has a selection of steaks and a charcuterie bar.
