Berze Art & Antiques

Zafer Sok 23, D2, Nişantaşı, Istanbul

A 2-min walk from Osmanbey metro station (use the Pangaltı exit), or a 5-min taxi from Taksim. From Valikonağı Caddesi, turn up Süleyman Nazif Sokağı, past the architect Vedat Tek’s exquisite 1900s town house.

This excellent little antiques shop is on Zafer Sokağı, the narrow, calmer street running parallel to Valikonağı Caddesi. The owner, Berna Bayındır, has an excellent eye and her shop is always full of interesting furniture and affordable, well chosen objets d’art. You can find everything from elegant mirrors to 19th-century chandeliers, to mother-of-pearl-inlaid furniture, to French fin-de-siecle porcelain and interesting drawings.
