Ankara Kaleiçi


The town within the citadel walls, Kaleiçi was Ankara’s Christian quarter until the first world war and home to Armenians trading in fine Angora wool. Today the rectangular citadel maintains a village atmosphere, as smart hotels and elegant shops begin to regenerate the old, beautiful town-houses and hans.
