- What’s On
Ansen’s 10th solo exhibition “Reunion” presents the audience with new works that reflect his previous series, which focused on power and human relations, in a way that is both integrated and retrospective.
The exhibition demonstrates the transformation of Ansen’s works by following a new dimension to the theme of his works, each new series of which have been carved out of multiple disciplines.
Since his first solo exhibition at x-ist in 2004, Ansen’s style has created an idiosyncratic blend to expand the framework of digital art ahead of his time with, most recently, the inclusion of plastic arts. Through the concept of “Reunion,” Ansen’s works derive from scenes designed by the artist based on situations where humankind is helpless in its relationship with nature, the effects of adopting an indifferent approach to nature or the states of individuals who act independently of nature.
Ansen’s search for form and format is solidified in the “Reunion” series through objects that have been used most frequently during the pandemic like latex gloves, cleaning supplies, chemicals, and medical tools.
