Köșem Pide

Göztepe Mh., Tütüncü Mehmet Efendi Caddesi No 10/5, Istanbul

They treat their pide very seriously at this joint which has been serving them Black Sea-style since 1982. The pide is perfectly cooked, with a crispy crust and a chewy centre. But don’t deviate from the menu – Dayna Tellibayraktar tells us she almost got kicked out once for asking for tomatoes on her pide.

For a quick meal, Flamingo also comes recommended, while J. Burger serves a mean burger. For a sit-down meal in the neighbourhood, meat lovers can head to Han and Yüzevler, while Misina Balık is great for fish.
