In the first half, the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of the Ukrainian lady conductor Oksana Lyniv, will accompany the Franco-Belgian cellist Camille Thomas in Never Give Up, a work by Fazıl Say that is described as ‘a cry for freedom and peace that focusses on heartbreaking terrorist attacks’. Ms Thomas was awarded the title ‘Classical revelation’ at the Révélations classiques de l’Adami event in 2010 and the title ‘Revelation, Instrumental Soloist’ at the Victoires de la musique classique event in 2014. In the second half, the orchestra will play The Night Prayer by the Germany-based Ukrainian composer and clarinettist Evgeni Orkin (1977-) and The Golden Spinning Wheel, a symphonic poem composed by Antonín Dvořák in 1896. This event is one of the DenizBank Concerts.
