Dalyan

The small farming town and resort lies by the reed banks of the Dalyan river that empties Lake Köyceğiz into the sea. It is best known for its sanctuary for loggerhead turtles on İztuzu Beach, which has prevented any major tourist development. These creatures, plus rock tombs cut into the cliff face above the town from ancient Caunos, bring tourists from the surrounding resorts.
