Reading list | The Lakes District

This is one of the most awe-inspiring parts of Western Anatolia, where snow-capped mountains rise nearly 3,000 metres above lakes large and small. The biggest are, west to east, Burdur, Eğirdir and Beyşehir, each with a lakeside town of the same name. Isparta, City of Roses, is the provincial capital, and hopping off point for the Lakes, as well as for the ruins of Sagalassos, spectacularly sited in the mountains.
