On the top floors of the Koç University’s Research Centre for Anatolian Civilisations, and in marked contrast to the hallowed halls of academe below (including one of the best research libraries in Istanbul and excellent exhibitions), the latest offering from the Divan is a smart affair and perfect for lunch or a pre-dinner cocktail.

Italian and reconstructed Turkish is on the menu. The terrace has a relaxed feel and, like many terrace restaurants in this neighbourhood (360 and Leb-i Derya, to name a few), stupendous views. For a table outside at dinner, be sure to book ahead.
