Balık Pazarı Sokak No. 41, Beyoğlu, Istanbul

Mon–Sun: 14.00–2.00

Opened in the early years of the Republic, this classy meyhane soon became popular with the city’s literary intellectuals. It was Yahya Kemal’s favourite restaurant and the poet Orhan Veli said about it: ‘If I can’t go to Degustasyon, I will not go to Balık Pazarı at all.’

Nearby Lambo was once upon a time also popular with the Istanbul’s literary circle. Tarihi Cumhuriyet Meyhanesi and Seviç were where these literary figures liked to dine.
